Dr. Katharine Harrington has taught at PSU since 2010. She teaches a wide range of courses in the language, culture, literature, and film of the French-speaking world.
She holds a PhD in French Studies from Brown University. Prior to coming to PSU, she taught for six years at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.
Her research interests include contemporary French and Francophone literature, French and Qu茅b茅cois film, Francophone communities of New England, and innovative approaches to language teaching.
She is the author of , published in 2012 by Lexington Books, as well as the co-editor of the book .
In her outreach efforts with the initiative, she is keenly interested in developing the visibility for French statewide by celebrating the Franco-American heritage of New Hampshire and in assisting local businesses and tourism providers with French language services to help attract and welcome Qu茅b茅cois visitors to the region.
She serves as President for the New Hampshire chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French and President of the American Council for Quebec Studies.
