Dr. Fischler has performed multiple roles on this campus. He currently teaches in the departments of Counselor Education and School Psychology; Educational Leadership, Learning and Curriculum; and Elementary Education and Childhood Studies. In 1975 he founded the 橙子视频app 鈥淐ounseling and Human Relations Center,鈥 and served as its鈥 Director from 1975-2015. He has served on PSU鈥檚 Homophobia Task Force; President鈥檚 Commission on Diversity; and is an advisor to the Black Student Union and Tau Omega sorority. His research interests include: cultural diversity; intercultural communication; social behavior; psychological counseling; multicultural education; and prejudice reduction.

  • Co-founder of the 鈥淪-O-S鈥 (鈥淪upport our Students鈥) Faculty Scholarship Fund, designed to assist PSU鈥檚 most financially at risk students
  • Creator, Plymouth State鈥檚 鈥淎-B-C鈥 (鈥A Better Campus Community鈥) program, designed to facilitate intercultural respect, compassion and civility.
  • 鈥淒istinguished Graduate Teacher Award,鈥 2004
  • Founder and past President, 鈥淔irst Star Tonight鈥 (supporting area chronically and terminally ill children, young adults, and their families), 1986-2005
